Now write to Admiralty

ref.(9) saying that

a copy was sent to the Governor who has reported

that the second paragraph of the Admiralty

letter correctly states the substance of the

agreement reached between the Hong Kong Government

and the local Naval Authorities. Say that the

Secretary of State approves the arrangements

reached on the understanding set out in paragraph

2 of (7). It is noted that the Command er in

Chief has been requested to surrender to the

Hong Kong Government approximately 5500 sq.ft.

at the south west corner of plot 86 and say that

the question of the surrender of this portion

of the site of the existing Hospitalwill be taken

up by the Governor with the local Naval Authorities

as soon as it has been decided whether the

rebuilding of Wanchai market is to be proceeded

with next year.
